🚩 Tulsi Vivah 2024 🚩

About Tulsi Vivah:

One of the oldest festivals in India is Tulsi Vivah. In the guise of Shaligram and Tulsi, Lord Vishnu and Vrinda are getting married ceremoniously. It is often commemorated in October or November and is observed on the twelfth lunar day, also known as Dwadashi Tithi.

For Hindus, Tulsi Vivah also marks the start of the wedding season, which is interrupted during Chaturmas, the four months when Lord Vishnu is in a deep sleep. The “Shubh Aarambh” of the wedding season is thought to be Tulsi Vivah.

🔰Significance Of Tulsi Vivah
🔰

The divine union of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, represented by Tulsi, is symbolized as Tulsi vivah. It is also thought to be a representation of how the gods can and will never wrong the good, the upright, and those who have trust and self-confidence.

  🔰Story behind Tulsi Vivah 🔰

The tale of Vrinda, a pious bride who was wed to the evil King Jalandhar, is the source of the Tulsi Vivah legend. It is believed that Vrinda was a very pious woman who was married to the demon king. She trusted her spouse completely. The terrible king remained unbeaten because of her faith and purity.

Jalandhar’s abilities alarmed the gods, so they turned to Lord Vishnu for assistance. The god approached Vrinda in the guise of Jalandhar in an effort to break her devotion. He tricked her into violating her chastity, which caused Jalandhar to lose his position of authority. Lord Shiva then vanquished him in combat.

Vrinda became enraged upon learning about Lord Vishnu’s trickery and Jalandhar’s defeat. Because Lord Vishnu had betrayed her devotion, she cursed him to change into the Shaligram, a black stone. However, a pure woman like her could not be punished by Lord Vishnu. He assured her that she would reincarnate as the revered Tulsi plant and that he would wed her in this form each year.

The Tulsi plant that has been growing in the home and Lord Vishnu in the Shaligram form, or an image of Lord Vishnu or Lord Krishna, are then used in the Tulsi Vivah.

🔰Why do we perform Tulsi Vivah? 🔰

            In Sanatan Dharma, Tulsi
Vivah is very significant. Happiness and prosperity are brought into the home when Tulsi is placed in the courtyard. Lakshmi enters the home when Mother Tulsi is worshipped properly. The Sadhak receives good outcomes by worshiping Tulsi Ji and Shaligram Bhagwan in Tulsi Vivah. In addition, those whose marriages are being postponed may soon be able to get married if Tulsi Ji and Shaligram Bhagwan are wed on the day of Tulsi Vivah.

🔰Who is Shaligram Bhagwan? 🔰

              Padmapuran
has a description of Lord Shaligram’s form. It is said that Lord Shaligram is the adored and formless manifestation of Lord Vishnu. The Gandak riverbed in Nepal is home to Shaligram Stone. This location is home to a temple called Salagram. This temple worships this manifestation of Lord Vishnu. This is where the name Shaligram came from. The Purana describes thirty-three different kinds of Shaligram formations. The 24 incarnations that are thought to be the 24 incarnations of Lord Vishnu are among them. It is thought to be Gopal form if the Lord Shaligram stone has a circular shape. If it is in the shape of a fish, then it is considered to be the symbol of Matsya incarnation of Lord Shaligram.
