🚩Maa Mahagauri 🚩

About Maa Kalratri

The goddess’ bright and gorgeous look is symbolized by the phrase Mahagauri, which translates to “extremely fair.” According to tradition, Goddess Parvati committed great penance in order to gain Lord Shiva’s love. Lord Shiva was pleased with her devotion and took her in marriage as his consort. But because of her extended fast, she had dark skin. In order to restore her complexion, Parvati made the decision to offer Brahma a serious penance.

Parvati was commanded by Brahma to defeat the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha as well as to bathe in the Ganga River in the Himalayas. Following her bath, Parvati emerges from the river dressed in white, her skin glowing, and she is christened Mahagauri.

Mahagauri has four arms and is dressed in white garments and decorations. She has two arms raised in the Abhaya and Varada mudras, holding a tambourine and a trident. She rules the planet Rahu while mounted on a bull.

🍁 Maa Mahagauri Vrat Katha
🍁

Shri Mahagauri is the eighth manifestation of Shri Durga. Given that she has a flawless complexion, her name is Mahagauri. On the eighth day of Navratri, she is adored. Worshiping her also makes impossible tasks doable. Worshipping Maa Mahagauri might lead to achieving any shape and desired outcome. Mahagauri is four-armed, with a trident on her lower arm and her right arm in the Abhaya Mudra. With his left arm, Damru is playing Dam Dam, while with his lower arm, Goddess Gauri hears the prayers of her devotees and bestows blessings.

After witnessing Parvati ji, Lord Bholenath ji speaks. Parvati ji had undergone intense penance to become the spouse of Lord Shiva. As a result, the Goddess’s heart is wounded, and Parvati ji becomes consumed with penance. In this manner, after years of intense penance for Parvati’s arrival, Lord Shiva went in quest of her and was shocked to see Parvati there. Parvati Ji is blessed with a fair complexion by Goddess Uma, who is pleased with her attire and accessories. Her skin appears white like moonlight and pure like a kund flower.

A tale states that the Goddess’ body turned black as a result of the intense penance she underwent to marry Lord Shiva. Satisfied with the Goddess’s penance, the Lord grants her acceptance. Shiva then uses Ganga water to cleanse the Goddess’s body, causing her to turn as fair and brilliant as electricity. From that point on, the Goddess is known as Gauri.

There is another well-known mythology about Mahagauri Ji that says that when Goddess Uma was performing penance, a hungry lion came looking for food. The lion’s appetite grew upon seeing the Goddess, yet he sat there, growing weaker as he waited for the Goddess to awaken from her penance.Upon awakening from her penance, the Goddess felt terrible for the lion’s state and turned him into her transport, considering that he had fulfilled his own penance in a sense. As a result, the bull and the lion represent Goddess Gauri’s vehicle.
