🚩 Sharadiya Navratri 2025 🚩

About Shardiya Navratri

Gods and goddesses and festivals have special significance in Hinduism. The festival of Navratri is also one such special occasion. In the festival of Navratri, nine forms of Maa Durga are worshiped continuously for nine days. The festival of Navratri comes four times a year. Very few people know that apart from Chaitra (Vasanti Navratri) and Sharadiya Navratri (Ashwin Navratri), two Gupt Navratri (Magh / Ashadh Navratri) also come. However, Shardiya Navratri is of the greatest importance in this. It is celebrated on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin. On this special festival, all the devotees of the mother worship the mother for the entire nine days, keep fast and perform Kanya Pujan on the ninth day. During these nine days, Maa Durga listens to the prayers of all her devotees and bestows her blessings on the devotees.

🍀 Significance of  Sharadiya Navratri:🍀

Sharadiya Navratri is also known as Mahanavratri or Ashwin Navratri. According to the scriptures, when Lord Rama went to exile for 14 years with Mata Sita and his brother Lakshman, Ravana abducted Mata Sita by deceit. After this, Lord Rama fought with Ravana to protect Mata Sita and won over him. Since then, this day started being celebrated as the victory of good over evil.

There is also another legend behind this. According to which, Maa Durga fought with the evil demon Mahisasur for nine days and defeated him on the tenth day. Therefore, for nine consecutive days, devotees worship the mother and try to please her. It is believed that by worshiping Maa Durga with full devotion at this time, all your troubles can be removed, and you can start a prosperous life.

🙏 What is the difference between Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri?🙏

Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri are two major Hindu festivals, which hold special religious significance in India. Every year Chaitra Navratri (March-April) and Sharadiya Navratri (September-October) are celebrated in the months. Thus, Chaitra Navratri is celebrated in the spring season, while Sharadiya Navratri marks the arrival of autumn. During Chaitra Navratri, we worship various forms of Maa Durga for nine days. Then, on the ninth day, we celebrate Ram Navami. In Sharadiya Navratri, we conclude the Navratris with Durga Mahanavami and Vijayadashami.
