A few days before Shravana Purnima and Rakhi, on the final Friday of Shravana Shukla Paksha, is when the Varalakshmi fast is celebrated.
Varalakshmi Vrat is recommended for both men and women. Nonetheless, married women are the only ones who observe Varalakshmi fasting in the regions of Andhra, Telangana, and Maharashtra. Children, a husband, luxury, and all other earthly pleasures are among the worldly joys that are desired during the Varalakshmi fast.
Throughout Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, Varalakshmi Vratam is a highly celebrated Puja Day and fasting occasion. Married women in these states typically perform Varalakshmi Puja for the benefit of their husbands and other family members. Worshiping the eight goddesses of wealth (Sri), earth (Bhu), learning (Saraswati), fame (Kirti), peace (Shanti), pleasure (Tushti), and strength (Pushti) is thought to be the same as worshiping Goddess Vara-Lakshmi on this day.
Varalakshmi Puja is not as well-liked in North Indian states as it is in South Indian states, nevertheless. One of the best days to offer prayers and seek the Goddess Lakshmi’s blessings is Varalakshmi Vratam.

Pursuing divine blessings by offering sincere prayers to Goddess Lakshmi is the primary goal of Varalaksmi Vratam. There are no hard and fast guidelines for keeping this vrat. Goddess Varalakshmi can be placated with just a basic prayer and there are no strict rites to follow.
Goddess Lakshmi is the ruling goddess of fertility, generosity, light, money, fortune, wisdom, and courage, according to Hindu mythology. This vrat is carried out by women, especially married ones, in an effort to appease Goddess Lakshmi and win Her heavenly favor. The women ask the Goddess for blessings on a healthy offspring and a long life for their individual husbands. Women alone celebrate Varalakshmivratam, which is predominantly a holiday for women. The importance of Varalakshmi vratam is explained in the ‘Skanda Purana’.
