?Bhim or Nirjala Ekadashi Vrat Katha?

The stories of these Ekadashis were a source of immense devotion for eighty-eight thousand sages, such as Shaunak and others, who listened to them with great pleasure and pleasure. The tale of Ekadashi from Shukla Paksha in Jyeshtha month is currently being demanded by all. Then Sutaji spoke the words, “O”grandfather!, after Bhimsen had addressed Maharishi Vyas. I am not allowed to eat on the day of Ekadashi, and brother Yudhishthir, mother Kunti, Draupadi, Arjun, Nakul, and Sahadev, among others, fast on that day. “Bro, I can offer charity and worship God fervently, but I can’t live in hunger.”

On this, Maharishi Vyas said, “O Bhimsen! He is right. It is mentioned in the scriptures that food should not be eaten on the day of Ekadashi. If you consider hell bad and heaven good, then do not eat food on both the Ekadashis of every month. do it.

Listening to Maharishi Vyas, Bhimsen said, “O grandfather, I have already told you that I cannot live without food even for a day; then is it possible for me to fast for the whole day? My stomach fire resides in me, which gets quenched only by eating more food. If I try, I can observe one Ekadashi fast in a year, so please tell me one such fast, by observing which I can attain heaven.”

Listening to Bhimsen, Vyasji said, “O son! Many great sages have written many scriptures, etc. If a person follows them in Kaliyuga, then he attains salvation. Very little money is spent on them. The essence of the Puranas is that a person should fast on both the pakshas. By doing so, he attains heaven.

Maharishi Vyas said, “O son of Vayu! Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month falls between Vrishabha Sankranti and Mithun Sankranti; one should observe Nirjal Vrat. During the fast of this Ekadashi, if water enters the mouth while taking a bath and shaman, there is no harm in consuming more than 6 mashas of water. More than 6 mashas of water should be consumed on this day. If a person does not drink water from sunrise to sunset, he should wake up before sunrise and then feed himself. Must eat food.

Hey Bhimsen! God himself told me that the virtue of this Ekadashi is equal to all the pilgrimages and donations. By remaining waterless for a day, a person becomes free from sin. Those who observe fast on Nirjala Ekadashi do not see terrible Yamdoots at the time of death; rather, the messengers of Lord Shri Hari come from heaven and take them to heaven by sitting on Pushpak Viman. The fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is the best in the world. Therefore, one should observe Nirjal fast on this ekadashi diligently. On this day, the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay’ should be chanted. The cow should be donated on this day. This ekadashi is also called Bhimseni or Pandav ekadashi. Before fasting without water, one should worship God and pray to Him, O Lord! Today I observe a waterless fast and will have food the next day. I will observe this fast with devotion. May all my sins be destroyed. On this day, a pitcher filled with water should be covered with cloth, etc., and donated along with gold to a deserving person.

Those people who take baths, do penance, etc. during this fast get the result of donating gold in millions of moments. The results of people who perform Yagya, Homa, etc. on this day cannot even be described. By virtue of fasting on this Nirjala Ekadashi, the man goes to Vishnuloka. Those people who eat food on this day should be considered Chandalas. They end up going to hell. Those who kill Brahma, drink alcohol, steal, are jealous of their Guru, and tell lies also become partakers of heaven by observing this fast.

Hey Arjun! The man or woman who observes this fast with devotion has the following duties: First of all, they should worship Lord Vishnu. After that, cows should be donated. Dakshina should be given to Brahmins on this day. On a day of drought, food, clothes, umbrellas, etc. should be donated. Those people who listen to and read this story lovingly also become entitled to heaven.”
