🚩Vaisakhi (Baisakhi) 2025 🚩

The Historical Significance of Vaisakhi:

According to legend, Guru Gobind Singh challenged any Sikh who was willing to sacrifice himself on Vaisakhi. Five people in all volunteered out of a throng of roughly a thousand. The Guru created a five-member corps of saint-soldiers known as the “Khalsa” and baptized the volunteers with “Amrit” rather than killing them. The Five Ks, which stood for Kesh (hair), Katchera (underwear), Kangha (comb), Kirpan (sword), and the Kara (steel ring), were these five individuals who represented the Khalsa.

Since that fateful day, it has become customary to shower nectar, or “Amrit,” during Sikhs’ ceremonial baptism.

In addition to its historical significance, Punjabis celebrate the day with great splendor as it signifies the maturing of the Rabi harvest.

Nonetheless, various Indian states celebrate Vaisakhi with great vigor, and people consider it the New Year’s Day in Hinduism.
