🚩 Amalaki Ekadashi 2025 🚩

About Amalaki Ekadashi:

During the lunar month of Phalgun, on the eleventh day of the Shukla Paksha (the waxing phase of the moon), the Hindu holiday known as Amalaki Ekadashi or Amalaka Ekadashi is celebrated. According to the Gregorian calendar, it occurs between February and March. Amalaki Ekadashi is also known as “Phalgun Shukla Ekadashi” because it falls during the month of Phalgun. Devotees honor the amla or amalaka tree (Phyllanthus emblica), popularly known as the Indian gooseberry, on the day of Amalaki Ekadashi. It is thought that Lord Vishnu resides in this tree on the auspicious day of Ekadashi. The primary celebrations of Holi, a distinctive Hindu festival of colors, begin on the day of Amalaki Ekadashi.

💐Significance Of Amalaki Ekadashi💐

For Hindus, Amalaki Ekadashi is a day of sacred fasting. One is said to be transported to Lord Vishnu’s dwelling, “Vaikunth,” by celebrating this Ekadashi. Both the “Brahmanda Purana” and Saint “Valmiki” discuss the customs and significance of Amalaki Ekadashi. The Hindu Puranas contain countless folktales and myths that describe the splendor of the Amalaki Ekadashi fast. This day is celebrated with special rituals and prayers since it is considered to be particularly auspicious. Even the day following Amalaki Ekadashi, known as “Govinda Dwadashi,” is considered to be very auspicious.

Because of its connection to other Hindu holidays, Amalaki Ekadashi is regarded as a more important day. Between Holi and Maha Shivratri, this Ekadashi falls. On this day, the amla tree is worshipped as a symbolic depiction of the complex Hinduism ritual. Since Goddess Lakshmi is seen as an all-pervading divinity, she is also honored throughout this time. Many people also think that Lord Krishna and His consort, Goddess Radha, live close to the tree. Worshiping the amla tree helps devotees become wealthy and well.
