We commemorate the Jaya Parvati Vrat as a tribute to the goddess Jaya. For five days, devotees who observe this fast must refrain from consuming any meal that contains salt. Additionally, it is not permissible to consume wheat or certain vegetables at this time. Javara, or wheat seeds, are sown in a little earthen pot and deposited at one’s house or place of worship on the first day of this fast. Then, for five days straight, the devotees perform puja for this pot. At the time of Puja, the wheat-seed pot is daily irrigated. Vermillion is applied to the Nagla, a cotton wool strand that resembles a necklace. Next, continue wrapping this thread around the pot’s edges.
Women who follow the Jaya Parvati Vrat fast also observe the Jaya Parvati Jagran fast on the final day. They sing hymns, bhajans, and chant Aartis the entire night of this particular day. This night vigil is observed till the following day, which is Gauri Tritiya, when the five-day fast is broken.
The wheat grass in the pot is removed the very next day of Jagran and placed in a holy river or other body of water. Women break the fast with a nutritious meal of cereals, vegetables, and salt after doing puja and observing other significant religious rites.

There is great significance for women in the Hindu festival of Jaya Parvati Vrat. Gujarat and other northern regions of India are home to ladies who celebrate this five-day fasting festival. Basically, Goddess Jaya, an avatar of Goddess Parvati, is connected to the celebrations and the Vrat. Celebrated for five days in the month of Ashadha, Jaya Parvati Vrat is a festival. For five days, starting on Shukla Paksha’s Trayodashi tithi and concluding on Krishna Paksha’s Tritiya tithi, there are celebrations. While married women observe this fast in honor of their husbands’ long lives and marital bliss, single ladies observe it in honor of wonderful husbands. If one were to start this fast once, it ought to be maintained steadily for 5, 7, 9, 11, or 20 years.
