The first people to tell Lord Rama and Lord Sri Krishna about the glory of Mohini Ekadashi were the saints Vasistha and Maharaja Yudhisthira. It is thought that if someone follows the Mohini Ekadashi vrat completely and sincerely, he will receive far more “Punya,” or good deeds, than he would by going on pilgrimages, giving alms, or even doing yagnas. The person who keeps the fast gains the same rewards as someone who gives up a thousand cows to charity. By following this holy vow, one can become free from the never-ending cycle of birth and death and find salvation. In Hindu mythology, Mohini Ekadashi is very important. For additional information regarding the significance of Mohini Ekadashi, one can even read the “Surya Purana.”
